Vaccination Services

Adult and elderly immunisation, vaccines for high-risk groups, and guidance on travel vaccination.

Vaccination is usually thought of as something for children. Adults, and particularly older adults and those with chronic illness, are the group most likely to be under-protected.

Who benefits most

  • Adults over 60
  • People with diabetes, heart, lung, liver or kidney disease
  • People with reduced immunity
  • Anyone whose childhood schedule was incomplete
  • Travellers heading to areas with specific disease risk

How we approach it

Vaccination is advised on the basis of your age, medical conditions, occupation and travel plans, not from a standard list. Where a vaccine is not indicated for you, we will say so.

We will explain what each vaccine protects against, the expected side effects, and how many doses are needed — before anything is given.

Travel vaccination

If you are travelling, tell us your destination and dates well in advance. Some vaccines need several weeks to take effect, and a few require a course spread over a month or more.
